I have been entrepreneurial for as long as I can remember – from selling stationery in elementary to direct selling, I probably think I’ve done it all. Those side hustles gave me a marginal income that provided my wants and covered up for some of my needs too.
Today is Good Friday. As with the rest of the Catholic congregation, I, along with Ryan, my husband, remember how 2000 – something years ago, an ordinary man from Nazareth did something extraordinary for me to be able to cherish today.
It’s been three months after the results of the CPA Board exam last October went out, and after not seeing your name on the roll of successful examinees, you felt like the world crumbled beneath your feet. You felt like sh**, and even after a week or so, you still do.
This is usually synonymous to other three more “S’s” – sand, sun and surf. Here in the Philippines, summer officially starts when the last bell rings after the “final” final, when you’re able to shout “SUMMER!” at the top of your lungs without any worry of an impending exam (I have heard a lots shouts in the hallway during the last week of March, so yes, this happened).
